Nia Vardalos Teams Up With Kellogg’s For New Year’s Revolution!

NiaVardalos

Greek-Canadian actress Nia Vardalos, famous for “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” recently teamed up with Kellogg’s Special K brand for a campaign nicknamed New Year’s Revolution.

The campaign focuses on making positive life changes by encouraging people to set goals and keep them in the New Year. The phrase “New Year’s Revolution” was used, rather than the traditional “New Year’s Resolution,” because as Vardalos stated, New Year’s resolutions usually fall by the wayside by the time February rolls around; therefore, they wanted to make a campaign about more meaningful and long-term changes, rather than the usual forgotten resolutions.

As Vardalos herself stated, “it’s about making a bold statement with a hashtag #2015Revolution and setting about making a change.”

Vardalos also went on to talk about the sequel to her original hit movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” that currently in the works. She held off on the sequel for all these years because she realized that the sequel would have to focus on Toula’s (the main character) feelings about motherhood and Vardalos did not feel she could relate to that life event just yet.

Vardalos has now adopted a daughter and said “That’s why I decided to do the sequel. Couldn’t do it before. Couldn’t write about motherhood when I wasn’t experiencing it.”

We can’t wait to see Vardalos’ campaign with Kellogg’s, as well as the sequel to “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.” If you’d like to see her before that, she will soon be guest starring on both “Marry Me” and “Law & Order: SVU.”
