Sydney Siege Shooter’s Girlfriend has Bail Revoked

droudisAmirah Droudis, the Greek-AustralianĀ girlfriendĀ of the Sydney cafe siege shooter, had her bail revoked after a magistrateĀ decided that her being at large is an “unacceptable risk.”

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) had asked for Droudis’ bail conditions to be reviewed following last week’s siege at the Martin Place cafe, according to ABC. The 16-hour standoff resulted in the death of two hostages and perpetrator Man Haron Monis, an extremist, Islamic State supporter.

Droudis wasĀ charged with the murder of Monis’ ex-wife, Noleen Hayson Pal, in 2013. Monis had been on bail, on charges of being accessory to murder.

The siege and the posting of certain videos by Droudis in 2009 has prompted the prosecutor to review her bail. In said videos, Droudis supports terrorist acts such as the Bali bombing and the 9/11 attack. The DPP said that the videos constitute evidence that Droudis is willing to act on Monis’ behalf.

Chief Magistrate Graeme Henson adjourned the court twice so he and both legal teams could watch the video evidence presented.

After the magistrate’s decision, Droudis was taken into custody. SheĀ is due to appear in court on February 22, 2015.
