Chairman and CEO of Libra Group George Logothetis received the 2014 “Capital Link Leadership Award” for his initiatives in Greece, as well as internationally, in the business, education and charity fields. The award is part of the 16th annual Capital Link investment forum in New York.
While receiving the award, Logothetis proudly referred to his Greek heritage, and congratulated Nicolas and Olga Bornozis for organizing the forum. Furthermore, Logothetis talked about the “Greek experience,” the need to support the Greek youth, his feelings when visiting the country and analyzed his investment initiatives in Greece, aiming to restore and grow the Greek economy.
In addition, he presented the activities of the “Libra Internship Program” and the Hellenic Entrepreneurship Award, which was founded and managed by Libra Group with a 10-million-dollar commitment. The Entrepreneurship Award has created opportunities for both experienced and up-and-coming entrepreneurs in Greece through funding, mentoring and a wide range of business support services.
Logothetis was introduced by the Ambassador of Greece to the US, Christos Panagopoulos, who also presented the award. The event and dinner was attended by Shipping, Maritime Affairs and Aegean Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, Deputy Finance Minister Christos Staikouras, Deputy Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change Asimakis Papageorgiou, Permanent Representative of Greece to the UN, Ambassador Michel Spinellis, General Consul of Greece in New York Georgios Iliopoulos, Consul Manos Koubarakis and several Greek-American entrepreneurs. The event was presented by journalist Alexis Christoforous.
