Greek Hackers Breach Legal Database

hackers-PatrasThe Greek Police Cyber Crime Unit has brought a case of intellectual property violation to light. Members of the unit conducted an online investigation and presented their data to Athens’ District Attorney, who requested a preliminary examination.
The online investigation led to the arrest of two 36-year-old men in Patras, Greece, who hacked an online legal content database and were selling access codes to internet users via their own website.
A file was formed against the two hackers for persistent violation of intellectual property on a commercial scale, therefore they will be brought before a prosecutor.
The legal content database belong to a large of Information and Communication Technology company.
During investigations in the two men’s houses, police found proof of their illegal activity as site administrators, while they also seized two hard drives. Evidence will be sent to the Criminal Investigation Directorate for further laboratory analysis.
