Greece and Turkey to Hold Business Forum in Izmir

IzmirMediterranean neighbors Greece and Turkey will hold a joint business forum, bringing together hundreds of participants on November 12 in Izmir, with Turkish Economic Affairs Minister Nihat Zeybekci and Greek Development Minister Nikos Dendias delivering speeches.

Turkey’s Foreign Economic Relations Council, the Greek Embassy in Ankara and the Union of Hellenic Chambers of Commerce and Industry are co-organizing the event.

A total of 243 participants from Turkey and Greece will have bilateral meetings at the event, but including the business-to-business meetings, a total of 538 gatherings will be held overall. The event aims to promote bilateral trade and enhance investment flows between the two countries. It will also explore opportunities for Greco-Turkish trade and investment cooperation in third countries.

The forum will focus mainly on the areas of food and agricultural products, tourism and real estate, construction and building materials, shipping, transport and energy. Participants will seek to become up to speed with the latest economic and business developments in both countries, meet potential investors, exporters, importers, business and technology partners, promote trade, investment and business opportunities, and multiply the business footprint across the Aegean Sea.
