The “Best Performer” award of the London Greek Film Festival has been awarded to Theodosis Pelegrinis, the former rector of the University of Athens.

The film “Pandemia,” directed by Dimitris Piatas, made its debut at the 7th London Greek Film Festival on October 16, 2014 in the city’s Art Theater. “Pandemia” was awarded three different prizes: the best fiction film award, the best director award and the best performer award. Director Demetris Piatas was given the best director award and Theodosis Pelegrinis the best performer award, while the film itself won the Festival’s best fiction film.

Former Rector of the University of Athens made his film debut with “Pandemia.” He has had previous success as a stage actor in Paris.

The former Rector of the University of Athens recently made the shift from academia to acting, but theater has always been a passion.

“Pandemia” is a black comedy that takes place in a country under attack by a virus, the “Mona Lisa Syndrome.” The patient ceases to have an understanding of his surrounding environment and smiles constantly as society collapses around him.
