Archbishop Demetrios of America will visit Cyprus between October 20 and 27. The trip follows an official invitation extended by Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades, together with the unanimous agreement of the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus.
The 86-year-old Archbishop Demetrios will meet with President Nicos Anastasiades, Archbishop Chrysostomos, governmental, academic and institutional officials. He will also visit ecclesiastical and charitable institutions, as well as the monastery of Apostolos Andreas, located in the occupied area of Karpasia, where restoration and maintenance projects are currently being carried out.
Archbishop Demetrios has previously visited Cyprus during the presidencies of Tassos Papadopoulos and Dimitris Christofias.
