Alexa Davalos Takes Female Lead in Amazon Pilot ‘The Man in the High Castle’

Alexa-DavalosGreek-French beauty Alexa Davalos has been cast in a lead role for the Amazon pilot “The Man in the High Castle.”

The actress, known for “Mob City” and “Clash of the Titans,” will play Juliana Frink in the upcoming project based on Philip K. Dick’s novel. Set in 1962, the story centers on daily life under totalitarian Fascist imperialism, fifteen years after the end of a longer Second World War (occurring from 1939–1947 in the book). The victorious Axis Powers – Imperial Japan, Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany – are conducting intrigues against each other in North America, specifically in the former U.S.

Juliana Frink is a judo instructor and after an initially short introduction, her character evolves throughout the rest of the story to become a very central plot piece. She is the ex-wife of one of the male lead characters, Frank Frink, a secret Jew (actual last name: Fink) and Pacific War veteran who hides to avoid extermination in a Nazi camp.

Davalos was born in France and is of Greek descent. She speaks English, Greek and French. Born into a family of artists, her mother was an actress and her grandfather, Richard Davalos, starred alongside James Dean in “East of Eden.” Though she initially started out as a model, Davalos shifted her career into acting and moved to Los Angeles, scoring her first big break playing Kyra in “The Chronicles of Riddick” opposite Vin Diesel.
