Greece Shapes Foreign Policy Based on Respect for International Law

Greek Foreign MinistryGreece shapes its foreign policy – which is strategically stable in the recent decades – based on respect for international law and the defence of its national interests, the Foreign Ministry said in an announcement on Monday.
“In the European Union and all the other international organizations it participates, Greece acts based on these criteria,” the Ministry said in response to main opposition SYRIZA MP Nadia Valavani, who criticized the government’s stance at the last EU ministerial meeting.
The Ministry underlined that Greece supports the Egyptian initiative towards a sustainable, stable truce in Gaza that will allow the resumption of dialogue and agreement on a two-state solution described at the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council and the relevant EU official documents.
Greece has already sent humanitarian aid of 500,000 euros through UNRWA to meet food needs and repair the water network, the announcement noted, adding that it has also officially declared its readiness to nurse the injured and especially children.
