Apostolos Gletsos, the Greek popular actor and currently mayor of the town of Stylida, in Lamia, central Greece, announced his party’s positions.
Gletsos had announced the creation of a new political party when he was re-elected as mayor of Stylida in May’s municipal elections. The Stylida mayor also announced his collaboration with well-known journalist Semina Digeni.
The new party is called “Teleia” (meaning full stop in English) and supports collective autonomy. It aims to fight poverty and social exclusion. The party supports the unity in European Union but also criticizes some of its policies regarding Greece. Gletsos states that Teleia will fight to bring back all the young educated Greeks who have left the country because of the economic crisis.
“We should stop those who have killed our dreams,” Gletsos states. He claims that his party will embrace all Greek citizens regardless of their political ideology, clarifying that he does not intend to leave his post as mayor of Stylida.
