Earth Friendly Products, makers of ECOS, the world’s top-selling green laundry detergent and 150 other cleaning products using only plant-based, natural ingredients, will be sponsoring Vicky Arvaniti and Maria Tsiartsiani, Greece’s top women’s beach volleyball team, as they strive to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

This is an especially important year for Tsiartsiani as she plans her comeback after a shoulder injury at the Bangsaen Open in Thailand in October 2012. After her withdrawal, Tsiartsiani gave birth to her first child – her daughter Sophia. Greece’s coach Kostas Tampouratzis put Tsiartsiani’s name on the national squad roster for the start of qualifications for the Rio 2016 Olympic games.

Tsiartsiani and Arvaniti have had a partnership since 2009 when they finished their season together reaching 7th in the world ranking. Kelly Vlahakis-Hanks, CEO of Earth Friendly Products says, “We are so excited to sponsor Vicky and Maria again on their road to the Olympics. They are superb athletes and play with such dedication and heart, and are the perfect representatives for Greece. The entire EFP family is ready to cheer them on from the sidelines.”

Tsiartsiani and Arvaniti will be bringing their combined forces to the FIVB Grand Slam in Long Beach, California on July 22-27, 2014, where they will compete to qualify in the Beach Volleyball World Series.

The late Dr. Van Vlahakis, a Greek native, founded Earth Friendly Products (EFP) in 1967 with the simple mission to provide consumers with non-toxic, natural, affordable cleaning products that are safe for people, pets and the environment.

EFP opened their first global office in Athens, Greece in 2013 to pave the way for a production facility that will service Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Dr. Vlahakis had a special connection to his homeland and felt it was his duty as a Greek-American to take some of his success back to Greece while encouraging other companies to invest in the Greek economy.
