Second Beach Street Festival in Lesvos

Beach Street Festival 2014The Greek island of Lesvos in northern Aegean sea will host the Beach Street Festival (BSF) from August 1 to 3. This year’s festival, mainly influenced by the murals of the Greek folk painter Theofilos Chatzimichael, will include several events of contemporary urban arts, tradition and music.
The festival launched in 2013, inspired by an abandoned hotel on the beach of Vatera. Graffiti artists and musicians from all over Europe gathered at the beach to celebrate and fill the enormous hotel with color and music.
Over 50 musicians and bands, and 80 graffiti artists from Greece and across Europe will meet again this year in Lesvos to present their work to the public.
BSF 2014 will be held for second consecutive year in the island’s capital town, Mytilene.  The Festival organizers aim to unite the Greek summer and modern urban arts (music and graffiti) with Greek tradition, surrounded by sounds and colors from all over the world.
The location of this year’s Festival will be the historic Castle of Mytilene and its surrounding area, the forest and Tsamakia beach, while the main music categories featured are: HipHop, Trap, House, Techno, DNB, DubStep, BUB and Reggae.
