During a simple but moving ceremony, which was covered by major newspapers of Luxembourg, such as Luxemburger Wort and Tageblatt, several citizens of Luxembourg were awarded Greek language degrees.
The extremely popular program for learning ancient and modern Greek has been organized annually with great success since 1964 by the association “Les Amis de la Grèce” (Friends of Greece). Founder and long-time president of the program was Professor Henri Muller.
It is a unique initiative that has been established in Luxembourg due to the country’s relations and “cultural encounter with Greece,” and has gotten a lot of media attention and high number of participants.
The ceremony took place in the Greek Embassy of Luxembourg by the Greek Ambassador Theodore Georgakelos and the President of the Association “Les Amis de la Grèce” (Friends of Greece), Edouard Wolter.
