National Technological University of Athens Reopens

The National Technological University of Athens (NTUA) has reopened after its administrative employees ended their long-standing strikes asking for the reinstatement of their suspended colleagues. This development allows students to return back to their classes and finish the academic semester.
On Tuesday University represantives stated that the academic semester would be lost unless the classes started immediately and called all the students and professors to gather in the University Campus.
The employees met with the University’s Dean and agreed to end the strike. Additionally, they asked for a University Senate session in order to start a discussion regarding the suspension of their administration colleagues, since those who were placed in a labour pool cannot offer their service until their working status is cleared.
A local prosecutor has issued a warrant for a preliminary investigation in the historic building whose gates were shut and no one was allowed to enter.
