Mickey Mouse and 2,700 passengers of the Disney Magic cruise ship paid a visit to the Greek islands in June, since this year Disney’s program includes Greece among its destinations.
Amidst its nine-day cruise, on Saturday Disney Magic arrived at Katakolon Port, the gateway to Ancient Olympia and Pyrgos. Representatives of the Port Police and the Port Fund were there to welcome the ship with every honor.
Captain Robert Olmer, the staff and the Mickey Mouse entourage welcomed the passengers. During the simple ceremony, held in the special hall of Disney Magic, a present exchange took place between the President of the Katakolon Port Police Dimitris Apostolopoulos and the ship’s captain.
“Katakolon Port is today the leading player in a new type of cruise stop with educational goals. Ancient Olympia is a very attractive destination for schools and young children. The company will visit us once more this summer and we hope it will do the same next year,” stated Dimitris Apostolopoulos.
Disney Magic is a cruise liner that combines classic charm with all modern luxuries, technology and comforts that make cruising a pleasure. Its special design and capacity of 2,700 passengers have it listed among the most admirable and recognizable liners across the world, making hundreds of trips to dozens of exotic international ports every year.
Disney Magic boasts 11 expansive decks, a total length of almost 300 meters and a maximum width of 106 meters. Aboard the ship, 2,700 passengers can stay comfortably, while 950 cast and crew members are on hand to accommodate the needs of each and every guest and entertain them, all day and night.
