Monks in Meteora had to rock-climb in order to reach the Skete of St. Gregory, to perform the ceremony of Divine Liturgy. This was a historical moment for the monastic community of Meteora, since this is the first ceremony to take place in the Skete of St. Gregory in 50 years.
The monastic community of Meteora in collaboration with the Fire Department of Kalabaka took the initiative to perform the Liturgy at the Skete St. Gregory, near the hermitage of Saint Anthony.
The Skete is located at 50 meters and can only be accessed by rock-climbing. The Fire Department of Kalabaka was essential in order for this historic event to take place.
