The Greek police arrested on Wednesday, a 29-year-old Greek man in Volos, who was posing as an adolescent school boy and blackmailing young girls with naked pictures they had previously provided him with.
According to initial police reports, during the past nine months, the man had created several fake accounts on the social network platform Facebook, with the aim to befriend several teenage girls, while pretending to be of the same age. After talking with the young girls on the phone and through Facebook, the man allegedly persuaded his victims to send him topless pictures, which he then threatened to publish on the web, unless the girls would send him nude pictures of themselves.
After searching the offender’s home, the police found several digital pictures associated with child pornography saved on the perpetrator’s personal computer, while also seizing the cell phone used for communicating with the young victims.
The man is to be brought to the local prosecutor so as to face the charges brought against him.
