Dutchman Sentenced for Stabbing 11-Year-Old Russian in Crete

Dutch-boy-Crete-Greece-Russian-boyA mixed court in the city of Neapoli, on the Greek southern island of Crete, sentenced on Saturday a 20-year-old Dutch entertainer to 11.5 years incarceration in a psychiatric facility over his attempted murder on a Russian boy during his vacation in 2013 in Greece.
On May 14, 2013, the Dutchman who was working as a children’s entertainer in a hotel at the island’s popular tourist destination Hersonissos, where the incident took place, stole a laptop and mobile from an 11-year-old Russian boy, afterward attacking and stabbing him 20 times when the boy confronted him about the theft. He then left him in a nearby dump.
According to the local news portal cretalive, the victim of the crime was present during the Dutchman’s sentencing on Saturday, seated in a wheelchair and for the first time confronting the person who left him for dead.
The 20-year-old Dutchman was convicted to 10 years in a psychiatric institution for attempted murder and 1.5 years for weapons possession, use of weapons and theft.
