New Emergency Shelters to Be Built in Greece

war shelterNew shelters for the protection of citizens against war, terrorist attacks and natural disasters are to be built in Greece as the old ones have already completed their life cycle. The Greek Ministry of Environment Energy and Climate Change has put the draft legislation forward for public consultation, a process that will be completed on May 23.
The shelters in Greece are more than 60 years old and do not meet modern standards. The draft legislation foresees the building of new shelters as well as the repair and modernization of existing ones. The new shelters will be multi-purpose, and can also be used as event venues or parking lots.
