More than 400 students from universities in Greece and abroad will be taking place in the 13th International Model United Nation conference entitled ThessISMUN (Thessaloniki International Student Model United Nations).
This year’s ThessISMUN conference will be held from April 23-27 at the University of Macedonia (UOM) in Thessaloniki, Greece and will be held in honor of the Aristotle University’s Law School professor Athanasios Kaisis.
“I consider it to be a great thing that students from different countries and jurisdictions will be mingling and thriving off one another. These days offer the possibility to surpass the boundaries of teaching since the exercises will give them real life experience” stated Mr. Kaisis adding that “Students realize that beyond and outside their country, there is international law, violence has no place and war cannot exist.”
Students from Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, German, Italy, UK, Serbia and Cyprus will also be taking part at ThessISMUN.
“Hundreds of students from ten countries will have the opportunity to experience the University of Macedonia as well as the city of Thessaloniki. They will be cooperating to solve problems and will learn to enhance their abilities while they watch their ideas become a reality,” stated UOM’s dean Ioannis Chatzidimitriou.
