Lucrative business deals conducted by members of the Greek neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn were exposed in documents brought to light on Friday by Greek Deputy Labor Minister Vasilis Kegeroglou.
Addressing the Greek parliament, Kegeroglou introduced evidence about the “business party,” as he referred to Golden Dawn, presenting invoices and vouchers issued by the Greek outpost of the international non-governmental organization “Medecins du Monde” (MdM), according to which Golden Dawn MP and businessman Ilias Panagiotaros supplied the NGO with hygiene products.
Kegeroglou mentioned that the Golden Dawn MP, who is listed as a supplier for MdM, at the same time orders attacks against the NGO and its offices.
“The enterprise Golden Dawn mocks even the people who believe in its sayings. While giving orders to raid the offices of MdM, a Golden Dawn MP, who is a businessman, is also an MdM supplier,” Kegeroglou said in Parliament, following the party’s recent attack against the NGO.
On Thursday, a gang of around 30 people affiliated to Golden Dawn tried to interfere with MdM staff providing healthcare services and medication to immigrants and Greeks alike in the industrial southern Athens suburb of Perama.
The Golden Dawn supporters gathered outside MdM’s polyclinic, verbally attacking the gathered immigrants and the organization itself, in the presence of several children and patients.
