The Greek railway workers have opted to join the general strike of General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE) scheduled for April 9.
The Panhellenic Federation of Railway Workers (POS) is also planning further mobilizations for both passenger and freight trains during the Easter holiday.
More specifically, POS has scheduled three-hour work stoppages for Holy Tuesday and Holy Wednesday and a all-day strikes for Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Drivers of freight trains, however, will be on strike the entire Easter week.
These mobilizations will be implemented in case the representatives of the Hellenic Railways Organization, TRAINOSE (Greek railway operator) and the Hellenic Company for Rolling Stock Maintenance fail to agree on a collective labor agreement.
