The beauty of Epirus in Northern Greece and many local delicacies will be showcased in a BBC documentary that will be shot during this summer.
The director of one of the most successful gastronomy and cooking shows on BBC, David Pritchard, along with his crew, recently visited the prefecture of Preveza in order to choose the locations for shooting the documentary.
Executives from the Regional Unit of Preveza, along with Pavlos Alexandrou from the culinary club Mithaikos guided the crew through the area to all the locations they wished to visit. Moreover, Pavlos Alexanderou escorted them to a nearby fishermen village where they tried many local seafood recipes.
The BBC crew was amazed by the taste of local recipes and the quality of the ingredients.
Furthermore, the Greek archaelogists Thanassis Moustakis, escorted them in their visit around the archaeological site of Nicopolis, where they were impressed by the findings and particularly by the mosaics. Then also visited Zaloggo and continued their tour in the beautiful city of Parga.
Stratos Ioannou, Deputy Head of the region, said that the visitors got a good taste of Epirus’ hospitality and that he expects this documentary to bring free international publicity.
