Louie Psihoyos Doc ‘6’ to Screen at Tribeca Film Festival

6_LouisPsihoyosAcademy Award-winner Louie Psihoyos, who won the Best Feature Documentary Oscar in 2010 for “The Cove,” will be screening hisĀ most recent project, “6,” at this year’s Tribeca Film FestivalĀ in NYC.

6” utilizes state-of-the-art equipment, with Psihoyos assembling a team of activists risking their lives intent to show the world never-before-seen images that will change the way people understand issues of endangered species and mass extinction.

Executive produced by Dieter Paulmann, produced byĀ Olivia Ahnemann and Fisher Stevens, andĀ co-produced by Gina Papabeis, “6” features Psihoyos, Shawn Heinrichs, Paul Hilton, Leilani Munter, Heather Rally and Travis Threlkel.

The documentary, which is still a work-in-progress, is being featured as part of the film festival’s Special Screenings.

ā€œSpotlight and Special Screenings are an especially dynamic aspect of this yearā€™s program, both in range of styles and stories,ā€ said Genna Terranova, Director of Programming at the festival. ā€œMany films feature real-life personalities whoā€™ve accomplished extraordinary feats, while in other films we see personal relationships at pivotal moments of transition.ā€

“6” screens Friday, April 25 at 7:30pm in the BMCC Tribeca PAC and info to obtain a free ticket is availableĀ here. The Tribeca Film Festival, founded in 2002 byĀ Jane Rosenthal,Ā Robert De NiroĀ andĀ Craig Hatkoff, takes placeĀ this year from April 16-27.
