German Family Makes Touching Video on Kefalonia

Cephalonia33A German family who loves Greece has made a touching video for the Greek island of Kefalonia that is suffering from severe earthquake damages. The video entitled “Kefalonia Insomnia” has become very popular among Internet users.
“After the earthquake the first thing that came to our mind was how to help people in Lixouri. We don’t drive trucks in order to open roads or provide supplies, but we can show the whole world that the residents of Kefalonia need help,” they said.
The two cinematographers with their three children have decided to move to the Greek island and have built a house in the village of Rifi near Lixouri. They stated that they feel surprised by people’s response to their video. “People from all over the world are willing to help,” they added.
The video presents the damages caused by the earthquake, the ruined buildings and streets as well as the island’s amazing beaches and villages. “We want to show the world that the island still maintains its beauty” they reported.
The earthquake that struck Kefalonia and the strong aftershocks that followed, have caused severe problems in the island’s infrastructure. A state of emergency has been declared in the entire region, many schools and hospitals remain closed and people are forced to abandoned their houses.
