“I want to say that first and foremost on our bilateral relationship, the United States is focused on supporting Greece through this reform effort and supporting the dual agenda of implementing reform and stimulating growth,” Nuland stated.
“American companies who I met with here this morning were very encouraged and supportive of the reform efforts that the government has undertaken, and we’re all eager to see continued implementation of those measures, particularly in the area of stimulating investments and stimulating entrepreneurship,” she continued.
The US Assistant Secretary of State also thanked the Greek government for supporting the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership during Greece’s EU presidency. Trans-Atlantic and Investment Partnership is a free trade agreement which is expected to be negotiated between the European Union and the United States.
US Assistant Secretary of State, Victoria Nuland, also visited Microsoft’s innovation center in Athens.
