George Michael announced Monday that he will be releasing a new album, “Symphonica,” on March 17.
Michael’s sixth solo album, “Symphonica” will be released as a deluxe 17-track CD, standard 14-track album (CD or digital) and as a “pure audio” Blu-ray disc. There will be original music as well as covered songs, including a version of Nina Simone’s “My Baby Just Cares for Me.” Phil Ramone worked as the producer on the album before he died in March 2013.
The British-Cypriot singer hasn’t released a solo album in almost 10 years, since “Patience” in 2004. After battling a life-threatening case of pneumonia in 2011 while recording “Symphonica” during a European tour of the same name, it had to be put on hold.
