A concert dedicated to the great Greek soprano, Maria Callas was held on December 8, in the Chamber Theater of Yerevan. This concert marked the upcoming EU presidency of Greece in 2014.
In his speech, Greek Ambassador Ioannis Taghis talked about the hard times in Greece. Despite this fact, he stressed that Greece has made great progress. Additionally, he will do his utmost to promote Armenia-Greece relations and Armenia-EU cooperation.
The ambassador also praised Maria Callas as an opera signer having an unprecedented career and success. Opera singer Varduhi Khachatryan performed the arias that Maria Callas was famous for.
