After a barrage of burglaries in the region of Piraeus, a DIAS motorcycle-riding squad was called to the area to monitor the situation and locate the culprits. Then, at around 11:00am, the Dias police unit that was on guard, ordered a blue car that was passing by to stop in order to check the identities of the occupants.
The suspects did not obey the police’s order and instead of pulling over, they opened fire on the police officers. The officers responded by firing back. The care managed to escape after a short pursuit.
Fortunately no policemen were hurt during the exchange of fire.
