Bank Employees Throw 200,000 Euros in Trash

debtsIt may sound unbelievable, but the personnel of a bank in the center of Nafplio, Greece tossed 200,000 Euros in the trash. This happened during the renovation of the bank, when the employees threw away a carton because they believed that it contained useless things.
However, when they counted the cash, it was discovered there was a deficit of 200,000 Euros and went into a panic. The bank employees immediately began to look into the situation, since it seemed unbelievable that one thousand 200 euro bills could go missing. When they didn’t find the money, the employees naturally started to fear for the consequences. One of the employees who threw the carton in the trash nearly had a stroke. Their suspense however, lasted 24 hours, after which an employee remembered that he had temporarily placed the money in a carton.
Luckily, after realizing what had happened, they searched the trash bin where the carton was thrown and found that it was still there. They were extremely fortunate that the garbage truck had not yet passed by and that  foreigners who seek metal or cans in the trash had not been rummaging around.
