Aegean and Olympic See Increase in Domestic Traffic

olympicaegeanEarlier this week, Aegean announced that combined domestic air traffic carried by Aegean Airlines and Olympic Air was up last month by 10% compared with November 2012.
According to the announcement, it has taken four years for the two carriers to see an increase in domestic traffic. In terms of numbers, they carried 315,000 passengers during November 2013, compared to 286,000 during the same month in 2012. The airports of Chania, Chios, Mytilene and Ioannina showed an increase in arrivals. Furthermore, subsidized routes such as Athens to Milos, Paros and Kythira saw more passengers as well.
Last month the two carriers saw a 17% year-on-year increase in traffic on the three main domestic routes, Athens to Thessaloniki, Rhodes and Iraklio, in part due to the absence of rival Cyprus Airways from these popular routes. Aegean expects its synergy with Olympic to produce even better results next year.
