The insurance policyholders of EOPYY, will be afflicted after the doctors’ decision to proceed with 24-hour recurring strikes until Wednesday, November 27. The doctors have left open the possibility of continuing their mobilizations until further notice.
The doctors, reacting to the measure of availability and staff layoffs in EOPYY, are warning that if the ministry insists on its decision, for cuts and dismissals, they will proceed with lasting mobilizations.
Moreover, the employees of EOPYY, have announced a 48-hour strike for next Tuesday and Wednesday. They will also participate, in the nationwide protest outside the Ministry of Health, that will take place on Tuesday morning at 11 a.m.
The Panhellenic Medical Association, supports the strike of doctors of EOPYY and declares that “the weakening of Public Structures of Primary Care of EOPYY, with civil mobilization and dismissals of staff, will lead to the suffering of millions of Greek citizens, who won’t have access to the benefits they need, or will abandon their treatment. This will increase the humanitarian crisis we are experiencing today. ”
