The the events being organized for the 150th anniversary since the day of famous Greek Poet Constantine P.Cavafy’s birth, are still under way in Canada. Within the frame of these events, a celebration is scheduled for the 25th of November and will take place at the University of Toronto.
Andrew Faulkner, Professor at Waterloo University of Ontario specialized in archaic, byzantine and neo-Hellenic poetry, is going to give a speech for Cavafy’s admirable work. Hugh Mason, ex-Professor of Toronto’s University specialized in Classical studies, will also be speaking about the work of the Alexandrian poet.
The speeches will be followed by an open dialogue with the participation of the public in attendance–concerning Constantine P. Cavafy’s work–while various poems of his unique work will be read out loud in the Greek and English language.
