Ancient and Contemporary Greek Works of Art in Brussels

Palais-des-Beaux-ArtsAn original exhibition, which for the first time combines unique works of art from Ancient and Contemporary Greece, will take place at the Museum of Fine Arts (or commonly known as Bozar) in Brussels.

The exhibition is entitled: “Nautilus: Navigating Greece” and it will last three months. The exhibition is organized in the context of the Greek Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The exhibition includes 88 ancient works of art from 23 Greek museums and public collections from Greece.

In the meantime, on the occasion of the Greek presidency of the European Council, a conference entitled “Cultural Heritage: Towards a Common Approach for a Sustainable Europe” will take place in March in Athens. The conference will highlight the importance of the cultural heritage, the importance of finding new ways of funding, and also the strengthening of the human values which form the European identity.

Furthermore, on the occasion of the Greek Presidency one of the stamps which will be issued, will depict part of the mural from the Palace of Iklaina that is situated in Messenia.
