Prosecutor Says Psomiadis Should be Found Guilty

makhs-pswmiadhsVirginia Sakellaropoulou will be the prosecutor for the trial of Makis Psomiadis, and suggests that the defendant be found guilty of attempted extortion, corruption and repeated bribery. On the other hand she stated that he should be found innocent of forming and managing a criminal organization, for illegal gambling, and money laundering.
The prosecutor also addressed serious charges to six of the other defendants: Yannis Papakostas, Konstantinos Riavoglou, Thomas Mitropoulos, Giorgos Christovasilis, Dionisis Kotoulas, Periklis Amanatidis and Vangelis Agelis.
The prosecutor recommended that Dimitris Dimitriou, Giorgos Havenetidis and Stavros Psomiadis should be cleared of all charges. She was also harsh with Sophocles Pilavios, the former president of the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) by describing him as: “a vulnerable and yielding man who offered nothing to the judicial procedure.”
