Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament, Evangelos Meimarakis, did not receive any official answer from the political parties on the issue of regulation modification, on postal voting and on parliamentary allowance as well.
Moreover, Speaker’s partners raised the issue, but the parties have not yet been given any answer nor have taken any initiative. As a result, Parliament paid for the parliamentary allowance of custody deputies in October and is going to pay once again in November, after the approval of the legal department of the House.
On the issue of voting themselves, partners declared that if a vote for or vote against the government would be judged from the voting procedure, then the Parliament would be facing a huge problem of unpredictable dimensions.
They also added that “today there are three in prison, but what if tomorrow there are ten?” Therefore, they highlighted that all the political parties should immediately take initiatives and decisions.
