The court’s ruled that the strike of the administrative staff at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and the University of Athens (UOA) is illegal.
“The two Greek universities will open on Monday. We all have to contribute in order to win back the lost days,” said the Ministry of Education. Konstantinos Arvanitopoulos, the Greek Minister of Education, has taken the issue of closed universities to the court in order to protect the public interest.
A few hours ago the administrative staff announced that they will extend the strike for the 10th week now, although they will meet again on Monday to discuss the issue.
Meanwhile the meeting of the NTUA to fix the schedule for the following semester was stopped by groups of leftist students.
