The plenary session of Human Rights will decide at a public hearing on November 7, for the appeal submitted by Gregory Valianatos and eight other Greek nationals seeking to extend the law which recognizes the cohabitation between unmarried heterosexual couples and same-sex couples in Greece.
The applicants complained that the law recognizes the right of cohabitation only for heterosexual couples by excluding same-sex couples.
They claim that this law violates the provisions of Convention of Human Rights Protection, prohibiting discrimination and the right to private and family life.
