Hellenic Food Authority Imposes Fines on 21 Food Enterprises

Food EnterprisesIn September, the Hellenic Food Authority (EFET) imposed fines amounting 94,000 euros on 21 food enterprises, found to infringe the applicable legislation.
According to the relevant announcement, the fines relate to infringements of food enterprises for possessing and distributing unsafe, irregular and adulterated products, as well as products that do not conform to relevant suitability for consumption standards outlined in the relevant legislation.
The fines also relate to infringements of the food enterprises for deceiving customers, not possessing relevant permit for operation, insufficient degree of hygiene, lack of employee health books and lacking self-regulation systems.
