sydney-opera-houseAccording to The Weekend Australian, the design of the famous Sydney Opera House is based on the designs of the ancient Greek theaters. In the supplement “Review” there is an article that tells the history of the building.

Going back to 1957, where the idea and the competition for the building took place, it is said that the designs that won the competition were inspired by the semicircular ancient Greek theaters with major or minor halls.”

A special characteristic is the “glass walls which captivate the sun light.” The article also mentions the significance of the Sydney Opera House which consists “an architectural miracle on design and functionality, combining the traditional and the modern.”
