The members of the “Independent citizens action against the construction or the licensing of a mosque” are organizing a gathering outside the offices of the service on Tuesday morning; here the new effort to tender the construction of a mosque in Athens (Greece) will take place.
After three unsuccessful attempts last July, the government will once again try to assign the task of the construction of the mosque at the old facilities of the Navy in Botanikos.
Despite the fact that there were several construction companies interested in undertaking the project previously, none submitted the final tender. According to sources, they considered that the budget for the project was low, and the risk of reaction was high.
The terms of the new tender are being modified in order to enable the major construction companies to participate. The ministry considers that they can cope with any problems relating to the construction.
