Vatopedi Monastery’s Holy Exchanges Trial on

The 14 defendants concerning the holy exchanges between the Greek State and the Monastery of Vatopedi on Mount Athos, Greece will be tried by a Three-member Court of Appeal for Felonies in Athens.
Specifically, the decree indicts Archimandrite Ephraim, the monk Arsenios, Ekaterini Peleki, Dimitrios Pelekis, Dionisis Pelekis, Ioannis Dionisopoulos, Stefanos, Detsis, Christodoulos Botsias, Grigoris Krobas, Petros Papageorgiou, Kostantinos Gratsios, Giorgos Mitropoulos, Stamatouls Manteli and Konstantinos Skiadas.
On the contrary, the director of the prime minister’s office at the time, Giannis Aggelou, is exempted by the decree.
According to the decree, the defendants are indicted on the charges of instigating an offense, false certificates concerning the exchange of Vatopedi Lake and coastal estates with other estates of the Greek state.
