According to ana-mpa, the Prime Minister Antonis Samaras received a warm welcome from students, teachers, parents and members of the school of the Hellenic Orthodox Community of St. Demetrios in Astoria, where it operates as the only Greek School in the USA with more than 800 students.
The president of the School Committee, Nikolaos Andriotis, introducing the Prime Minister, brought up the current affairs in Greece concerning Golden Dawn. He said that “a picture is worth a thousand words,” noting also the arrest “of people who declare everything which is not Greek.” Furthermore, he added that “Greece deserves better,” adding that he is sure the whole story will soon come to an end.
The Greek Prime Minister congratulated Andriotis and emphasized that “he can distinguish those who want real progress from those who want to present themselves as saviors, when they believe in ideologies which, as Andriotis said, have nothing to do with Greece.”
Furthermore, he invited students and parents to visit Greece or invest in the country, mentioning that “Hellenism has always been generous and today you give us courage. May you always be strong.”
