Samaras, Venizelos’ Brief Meeting in NY

Samaras_VenizelosGreek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras met with Government Vice President Evangelos Venizelos immediately after his arrival to New York.
Samaras and Venizelos discussed all the latest developments on extreme right Golden Dawn leader Nikos Michaloliakos and deputies’ arrests.

After the meeting, Venizelos speaking to the media ruled out the possibility of early general elections.
“The democracy has self-protection mechanisms” said Venizelos adding that the government supports the Justice which is also an institution that protects the Democracy” and did not hide his satisfaction on the latest developments and reminded that for a long period he insisted that the problem should be confronted more effectively.

Venizelos said that the new antiracist law will be tabled in parliament very soon.
Finally, he noted that the programme agreement between the two parties (New Democracy and PASOK) of the coalition government will be unveiled at the new session of the parliament.
After his brief meeting with Samaras, Venizelos left for Athens.
