Six members of a Greek family – among them a policeman, too – have been arrested for fraud, since they were pretending to be the relatives of dead people in order to obtain their money and properties.
Specifically, they illegally obtained one million euros in cash and more than 20 properties.
According to the police, this gang started to operate in Athens in 2000 and frauds were organized in various regions of Greece, such as Ioannina and Kavala.
The policeman, who was also arrested as a member of the gang, has been suspended from duty.
According to the authorities, the police are still investigating the case to find one more person from Britain, who is probably involved in the case.
