The parliamentary delegation of Victoria returned impressed from Greece, voicing confidence that trade relations between the two countries are to continue.
The above was highlighted by the President of the Legislative Council of the Parliament of Victoria, Bruce Atkinson together with the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Ken Smith, during the meetings with the Greek Ambassador to Australia Charalambos Dafaranos.
Dafaranos made his first official visit to Victoria and met with the state governor, deputy leader of the state government, ministers, the mayor of Melbourne and Diaspora factors.

The Greek Ambassador stressed: “What I’ve realized, is that everyone feels great appreciation for the Greek Diaspora and that there is a particularly favorable climate towards Greece.”
Atkinson and Smith appeared confident after their recent trip to Greece, noting that this will prove beneficial for both the Australian and the Greek side, while they promised to support every initiative.
Within the framework of the discussions held with the Minister for Education Mr. Dixon, proposals were made about the promotion of teaching the Greek language, which the Australian minister heard with particular interest.
