The Australian media gave wide publicity to the killing of the 34-year-old, anti-fascist activist and hip-hop artist Pavlos Fyssas on Sept. 18 by a gang of neo-Nazi Golden Dawn supporters. The Australian press also underlined the protests and massive demonstrations all around Greece that this murder has created.

The Australian press particularly stressed the announcement made by the Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, who said that the government is determined not to allow the descendants of the Nazis to poison social life, commit crimes and undermine the foundations of democracy.

The reportages refer to the rage and anger Greeks feel for the stabbing of Pavlos Fyssas.

In the recent past the former Prime Minister of Australia Julia Gillard as well as a number of Australian politicians from all political parties stated that Golden Dawn is not welcome to Australia.
