A special concert will take place on September 22 at the Theological School of Halki, in the presence of two Patriarchs. The concert has the general title: A cultural journey from Greece to Turkey.
The main singers of the concert are Eleni Tsaligopoulou, Kostas Thomaidis, Mustafa Doğan Dikmen, Engin Arslan and Vasiliki Papageorgiou.
They will be accompanied by the Plucked String Orchestra of the Municipality of Patras “Thanasis Tsipinakis” under the direction of conductor Stathis Soulis, the Ottoman Music Orchestra “Bosphorus”, the composer Giorgos Andreou at the piano and the traditional clarinetist Manos Achalinotopoulos.
Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople and Patriarch of Sofia and all Bulgaria Neophytos will honor the concert with their presence.
Neophytos will realize his first peaceful visit to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, as is customary, from Sept 20-23. In the framework of this visit he will attend the concert at the Halki seminary.
