A new tremor occurred on the Greek island of Crete, 120 km southeast of the coastal village Tymbaki, at 06:34 a.m. on September 12.
The tremor measured 4 on the Richter scale and had a focal depth of 10 km. Earlier, at 02:17 am, an earthquake of 2.8 on the Richter scale occurred, its epicenter being 54 km south of Heraklion and having a focal depth of 5 km.
Seismologists are monitoring the development of the aftershock sequence and seem to be reassuring.
