Two days before the first bell rings at schools around the country, the presidents of the regional secondary school teacher unions (ELME) decided rolling strikes of continuous five-day walk-offs starting September 16.
However, the minister of Education Constantinos Arvanitopoulos, in his interview to a Sunday paper, categorically ruled out the possibility of a mobilization order for teachers.
The Federation of Secondary School Teachers (OLME) addressed an open letter to parents and students in view of the upcoming strikes that they decided.
The union representatives of secondary school teachers are calling parents to “join the fight for the public school that has room for all students and teachers.”
